I believe we are all guided by the wisdom gained through our life experiences. I was born in the era of the Flower Children, spending my childhood collecting flowers, rocks, and seashells, and later, as a young mom, taking my children on long nature walks. To this day, my daily goal is to notice the beauty found in nature and give gratitude to God for it.
I am a wife, mom, grandma, and a trained, Certified Holistic Aromatherapist and Certified Herbalist. I am also a proud professional member of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, the Alliance of International Aromatherapists, United Plant Savers Medicinal Plant Conservation, and the Airmid Institute.
My journey with essential oils began over 20 years ago. While I used them thoughtfully, I often questioned whether I was using the right oil for the right intention—and using it safely. That curiosity grew into a deep desire to truly understand aromatherapy and herbalism from both a scientific and traditional perspective.
Over the years, I have completed extensive education in biochemistry, organic chemistry, the chemistry of essential oils, and component blending, and I am currently continuing my studies in the foundations of herbal medicine. My instructors have been among the most respected educators in the field. My path into aromatherapy was also shaped by earlier training in cosmetology and medical assisting, along with advanced coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. I consider myself a lifelong student of nature, always learning and deeply aware that there is still so much more to discover.
BrierBee is a brand that was a long time coming. The name first came to me simply because it felt right—bees are such an essential part of nature, and beauty often grows in unexpected places, even in thickets that attract bees, birds, and butterflies. Later, I realized that Brier is a blending of my children’s names, making the name feel truly meant to be.
I created BrierBee to share my knowledge and love of aromatherapy, with safety always as the foundation. I do not affiliate with any multi-level marketing essential oil companies, as I do not personally align with their safety standards, testing practices, or marketing methods. Instead, I hold myself to high standards—learning from world-renowned vintage aromatherapy educators, alchemists, chemists, distillers, authors, and from collaboration with thoughtful, like-minded colleagues in the aromatherapy community.
I use trusted, reputable resources and sustainably sourced ingredients whenever possible, striving to offer the highest quality products while keeping them accessible and affordable. Every blend I create is handcrafted in small batches, designed and prepared with the same care, intention, and love I use for my own family.
